Presentation

Maxence Doré is a French artist born in 1990. In constant search for escape, the artist depicts a place that would allow a new vision of our world. This search for new landscapes inspires him for his paintings as well as his illustrations: he likes to imagine what birds or cosmonauts can see from above. From the world of graffiti, Maxence Doré paints his first paintings on vacant lots. At this time, the artist spends most of his time looking for abandoned sites to graffiti with friends. Paint in peace, in the middle of nature and out of sight.

Having gone through a school of landscape art and architecture, his open-mindedness and large-scale vision of the landscape gives him great inspiration. This is how topographic mountain maps, satellite photos of Thomas Pesquet, or the deep blacks of Pierre Soulages become real sources of inspiration for his work.

This desire to create a movement, to give life to his painting comes from the graffiti with which he likes to give life to his paintings with relief, effects of materials, volume, light effects, etc. Today, it is his main motivation: to give the feeling that his paintings are landscapes on a large scale, sometimes very close to reality, like a photograph.
